#methodological rigourAgeing inference rests on three mice
The degeneration analysis uses 14 image volumes from three aged mice, with volumes rather than animals carrying the principal comparison and unclear event denominators for the tenfold statement. This limits precision and generalisability of the vulnerability claim.

#methodological rigourSome mouse analyses under-model clustering
PV-axon, oligodendrocyte and imaging-volume comparisons do not consistently model mouse-level nesting, despite multiple observations coming from the same animals. Blinding is also not reported for manual bridge identification and tracing.

#impact potentialFunctional consequences remain untested
The study does not directly measure conduction, circuit performance, trafficking constraints or increased myelin output. Discussion of PV-interneuron function, disease relevance and strategies to reduce vulnerability therefore remains prospective.
